During the design development process of the museum environment the main attention was paid to the intersections of the interior composition and the scientific exposition message. The central idea behind the concept is "the individual", his tortures and tragedy. The museum's exposition represents historical facts with emotional emphasis.
The basics of the interior composition is the content of the exposition, which is directly reflected in the structure of the interior and the philosophical concept. Together with the development of the exposition subject, the interior is obtaining some kind of tensity, which indirectly affects the visitors and helps to perceive the represented theme deeper and more emotional on a sensorial level. The key principle is the concept of the "road", it`s the metaphor of the path that Armenians passed through during those hard historical periods.
There are two different methods developed, that help the visitor to get acquainted with the exposition. The primal program includes the whole layout represented on two levels, which are connected by a rampant. On the upper level are exhibited the fundamentals, which are important during the diplomatic protocol and underage children visits.
